LA NACION
In the nutrition and cooking workshops for children that Delicias de Alicia runs in poor communities, this double standard becomes obvious.
CLARÍN
In a historic house in Barracas, 12 children are filling out their workbooks in the white living room, furnished with pallets and upcycled materials found on the street.
LA NACION
Alicia Amende was born in England. She travelled to Latin America for the first time in 2012, lived in Mexico for a year and then set herself up in Argentina, “I didn’t know this country but I loved it”.
MIRADAS NUESTRAS
Now we are going to see a report about an Englishwoman who fell in love with Argentine solidarity.
TELEFE
Alicia created a social enterprise to support nutrition workshops for children in shanty towns.
TERCER SECTOR
With it’s focus on healthy nutrition, Delicias de Alicia is a social enterprise that provides free nutrition and cooking workshops to children between 8 and 12 years old.
THE BUBBLE
Coming from England, nutritional education is something I’ve always taken for granted. The fond old days of the food wheel – you know, the colorful one, which as a child seems 99 percent fruit and veggies, and 1 percent pizza – stuck with me (mostly) throughout my teenage years.
TIME OUT
“Sitting around the communal table at Delicias de Alicias, you’d be forgiven for thinking that it was just another puerta cerrada, albeit an excellent one. Guests are welcomed with a cocktail and crosstinis, and then served three courses of vegetarian goodness”
HEREOS DON
En algunos hogares es todavía una tradición que las madres enseñen a sus hijas a cocinar, en la actualidad también a los hijos y con un ingrediente aún mejor, que estos aprendan a cocinar con alimentos de estación y saludables.
